- New Mancunian indie-rockers, Foilface, have a unique and inimitable sound. Sucking in styles and genres like a fat man at a pie contest, they offer lucky listeners everything from bug-eyed slacker rock through to deliriously wonky-swamp-ballads and wild-seaside-psychedelia.
Made up of members from Smile Like Fools, Plastic Gun Alliance and The Abodes, Foilface are a four piece band from Manchester who meet up regularly to record their luminously distinctive sounds, playing everything from guitars and banjos through to synthesizers, homemade instruments and, well, anything they can get their hands on really.
Over the past 18 months the band have recorded around 30 or so tracks and have recently finished mixing and mastering their first EP, “Jean-Claude Naïve”.
Six tracks long (and mixed and mastered the same night Phil Spector was sent down for second degree murder), “Jean-Claude Naïve” mixes influences like Modest Mouse, Grandaddy and Wire with a Mancunian swagger and a poetical immediacy that is as accessible as it is fresh and exciting.

Who are Foilface?
A collection of Manchester musicians striving for spiritual freedom through the medium of guitars, synths, biros, the shakey dave, a beautifully weighted spanner & butterknife, a dog called Bobo, a disturbing monologue about Margaret, a serious lack of takeaway, the sorrow of a patch bay, and the need to go home quite some time ago. Beyond this, very little clarity can be offered on who or what Foilface is.
