- About the band/artist
- Armen Firman are five Melbourne artists, united by their love of original alternative music. The band formed in early 2005; a year that saw their first ever demo played by various radio stations and mothers groups. Since then, they have developed a solid reputation in Melbourne, selling out shows to the disappointment of those queued outside who are left wondering what to do with their lives. Thanks to their explosive live show and glowing reviews from street press and online sites alike, Armen Firman have found themselves on the same bill as other great artists such as Sparkadia, Jebediah, Tic Toc Tokyo, Little Red, Xavier Rudd, British India, Plastic Palace Alice, Number Station and Bertie Blackman, whom the band toured with on several occasions throughout 2007. Looking ahead, Armen Firman have just launched their debut EP 'Your Name In My Skin', which was mixed by Melbourne's Franc Tetaz (Gotye, Lior). The EPs first single "Porch Dweller" exploded onto the digital market with over 12,000 downloads in its first six weeks online, and receiving 'Single of the Week' on iTunes Australasia. Several tracks from the release have already received national airplay and the EP has been met rave reviews in various music publications. Your Name In My Skin became available in stores on October 17. Armen Firman are Tom Whitty (vocals/guitar), Jimmy Saunders (vocals/bass), Sammy K Whitty (guitar/vocals), Rob Rambaldi (keys), and Matty Millar (drums/percussion/coffee-spilling extraordinaire).
